Returns Policy & Procedure

Please read this Returns Policy carefully before making a purchase. By purchasing from Bright Light New Zealand 2004 Ltd or Bright Light Architectural Limited (“Bright Light”), you agree to the terms outlined below.
This policy operates in accordance with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) and the Fair Trading Act 1986.
Bright Light reserves the right to update this policy from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of purchase will apply to that purchase.

1. Courier Damage
Due to the fragile nature of lighting products, it is important that goods are inspected upon delivery.
- Please inspect your package before signing for it, where possible.
- If visible damage is present, refuse delivery and contact Bright Light immediately.
- Any concealed damage must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
- Claims must include clear photographs of:
- The damaged product
- The internal and external packaging
- The courier label - All original packaging must be retained until the claim is resolved.
Failure to notify us within this timeframe may affect our ability to lodge a claim with the courier company.
All returns must be sent via a traceable courier service. We cannot accept returns sent via standard post.

2. Faulty or Defective Products
If a product is faulty or defective, please contact Bright Light as soon as the issue is identified. Products will be assessed under our return-to-base warranty - Product Warranty and safety.
Where a fault is confirmed:
- Minor faults will be repaired or replaced.
- Major faults may entitle you to a replacement or refund in accordance with the Consumer Guarantees Act if applicable.
Refunds will only be issued once the product has been inspected and the fault confirmed as a manufacturing or supplier defect.
Bright Light aims to assess and resolve returns within 5 working days of receiving the returned goods.

3. Product Suitability
Customers are responsible for ensuring products meet their project requirements prior to purchase. This includes confirming specifications such as size, finish, voltage, IP rating, and compatibility.
If you are unsure about suitability, we recommend contacting Bright Light for clarification before ordering.
Nothing in this clause limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

4. Change of Mind Returns
Bright Light offers a 30-day change-of-mind return policy, subject to the following conditions:
- Proof of purchase is required.
- Goods must be unused, uninstalled, and in original resellable condition.
- Original packaging must be intact and undamaged.
- All accessories, parts, and manuals must be included.
- Return freight is at the purchaser’s expense.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable.
- For customers with set shipping rates, a fair portion of the actual freight costs will be charged over and above the 10% restocking and handling fee.
- A 10% restocking and handling fee will apply.
Returns requested after 30 days may be declined or may incur a higher restocking fee at Bright Light’s discretion.
Installed, wired, modified, or damaged goods cannot be returned under change-of-mind provisions.

5. Custom-Made Products & Indent Supply Items
Custom-made or modified products are non-returnable and non-refundable unless faulty.
A custom-made product includes any item altered from its standard format or ordered with specific project requirements.
Any product Bright Light has ordered specifically for a project from external supply sources are not returnable.
Refunds for custom-made products will only be provided where:
- The product is defective, and
- The fault cannot reasonably be repaired or replaced.
