PANORAY: BRINGING ARCHITECTURE TO LIFE

Completed in early 2026, Atlas Concrete’s new headquarters in Takapuna features striking textured slate timber walls throughout the reception area and double-height stairwell. These architectural elements were designed to create depth and visual interest within the space, making thoughtful illumination essential.

Lighting the feature walls was a key requirement. Both to enhance the texture of the timber and to introduce a softer ambient glow to the interior.

Panoray was selected for its superior light quality and output. A 15×25° beam angle was chosen to maintain a narrow distribution, allowing the light to graze the surface and emphasise the wall’s texture precisely. A 4000K colour temperature was specified, which naturally warms when cast across the rich timber tones.

Panoray’s ability to bend in both directions also proved ideal for the curved feature wall behind the custom concrete reception desk, ensuring consistent illumination across the architectural form.
