RUNNING IN NEON

The sprinter sculpture was created by Dominique Sutton and originally installed in 1998 to celebrate the 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In 2019 the sculpture had a make over, many lengths of Neon Classic RGBW were added throughout, to illuminate and bring the sculpture to life. The sheer scale of the sculpture, 16 metres high and weighing more than 8 tonnes, made this no small undertaking.

RGBW Neon can create virtually any colour, including a true white, giving this sprinter a new lease on life and creating an impressive view in the evening. External projector lighting was also selected by Light Culture to operate in conjunction with the interior Neon and creates a striking contrast of colours.
